4 Secrets of Success I Wish I Knew When I Was 18
Knowing them now could save you precious time.
Hello dear friend
Welcome to a brand new edition of Be Your Best Friend with Anangsha, the weekly newsletter that takes a step closer every day to living the life of your dreams.
Today, I want to share with you the four secrets I wish I’d known when I was 18 (they’ll save you ten years of hard work).
#1 Skills matter more than formal education
Your clients don’t care about your qualifications. They care about how you can help them grow. Your skills make you money, not your degree.
Polish your skills.
Become so good that no one can replace you. It doesn’t matter what skill you choose. What matters is how hard you’re willing to work on it.
#2 Passion matters more than talent
Talent without constant upgrading is meaningless.
To be successful, be passionate about something that you can lose sleep over. Work so hard that the universe inevitably rewards you.
No matter how *gifted* you are, work on your skills. Otherwise, someone else will overtake you. The drive to work on your talent will only come with passion.
#3 There’s more than one way to reach your goal.
Most people think the only way to succeed as a writer is to write a best-selling book.
But most best-selling authors don't earn much from book sales. Their other writing ventures pay their bills.
The path to reaching your goal might look different than how you imagined. Be flexible and open to other alternatives. They can take you to your goal faster.
#4 Small failures pave the way for big successes
If you’re working hard but not earning much, don’t lose hope. Everyone goes through a journey to attain their goals. If you give up now, you’ll never know what you’re capable of.
Here are the three takeaways:
• Success takes time, patience and a lot of hard work.
• Keep experimenting until you find what “clicks”.
• Have an end goal in mind to navigate through tough times.
Only when you don’t give up, you can taste true success.
