I Tried 3 Free AI Headshot Generators So You Don’t Have To
A brutally honest comparison between 5 free and paid AI headshot generator tools.
TL;DR (because you’re busy and I get it):
I tested 3 free AI headshot generators and… well, here goes
❌ AIEase gave me a cartoon version of myself
❌ Supawork gave me a bindi (??)
🤷♀️ Remaker AI tried its best, but still looked like a virtual avatar
If you need a real, usable headshot for LinkedIn, Upwork, or your professional profile, skip the freebies.
My two favorite paid tools?
👉 BetterPic: most photo-realistic, natural lighting, solid privacy policy

👉 Headshot Pro: super polished, professional backdrops, and perfect for teams

But if you’re still curious about the free ones (or just want to laugh at my bird-in-a-suit experience), read on 👇
Hey friend,
Here’s a fun way to spend your Thursday afternoon:
Upload your selfies to a bunch of AI tools and watch as your digital doppelgänger morphs into everything except you.
That’s what I did when I tested 3 of the most popular free AI headshot generators in 2025.
AI headshot tools are everywhere. But are the free ones any good? Do they even resemble a human?
Spoiler: sometimes. But mostly… no.
Here’s how it went down:
🟣 AIEase:
Fast. Free. And weirdly laughable.
It gave me a cartoon-like version of myself. The eyebrows were on point, but the skin was so smooth, I looked AI-generated in the creepiest way.
Not LinkedIn-friendly.
🟠 Supawork.AI:
This one didn’t ask me to sign up, which was nice. But then it gave me a photo with a bindi (I wasn’t wearing one!). I think it assumed “Indian woman = must have bindi,” which… yikes.
Also, one of the outputs looked like a bird in a blazer. I wish I were joking.
🟡 Remaker AI:
Of the three, this came closest to a usable photo. But the vibe was uncanny. Something about the skin and smile didn’t feel human.
By the end, I had a folder full of avatars that looked like me if I lived in the Matrix. Or was animated by a team that’s never seen an actual human face.
So yeah, free tools are fun to try. But not something I’d recommend or trust for real-world use.
Here’s what I’d recommend instead
If you want clean, professional, “wait, is this AI?” level results,
✅ BetterPic: Hands-down the best. It got my hair, lighting, and even baby hairs just right.
✅ Headshot Pro: If you're going for that “I just got back from a TEDx talk” vibe, this is your tool.
I've used both for my LinkedIn, YouTube thumbnails, and personal brand. No one’s guessed they were AI.
Wanna see the cringe/fun results for yourself?

Hope it saves you time, money, and a few facial distortions.
