The biggest privilege in the world?
Reflecting on how times change when you're adamant about working on your goal.
Hello friend,
When I was about to quit my job, my mother told me no.
She said leaving the comfort and stability of a government job would be the biggest mistake of my life.
Her words instilled some doubts, but my mind was set on the path I wanted to walk.
Fast forward 2 years, and look how our midset has changed!
A few days back, my mother went to the 28th International Guwahati Trade Fair 2023 and spotted a book store.
She called me and asked if she could leave a few copies of my latest book "Taming Infinity" in them?
Her rationale was - A lot of people attend the trade fair and browse through books. If my book was highly visible, it might attract the right kind of audience, and lead to positive publicity.
I wasn't sure how this would all translate into money, but the excitement in my mother's voice left me teary eyed.
I told her to go ahead.
She did, and also clicked a few pictures to share with me.
The pride in her voice is my fuel to keep pushing ahead.
I'll never forget what an American woman I met in Indonesia told me, "We might have White privilege and pretty privilege, but the biggest privilege in the world is having parents who support your dream."
It's true, and all I have in my heart is gratitude. ❤️
PS: If you're in and around Guwahati, you can grab a copy of "Taming Infinity" from "Reader's Hub."
