The Story of Bringing a Book to Life with 3x Author Jordan Gross
Read on for some must-read (and underrated) tips on how to get the most out of the book-publishing experience.
Hey you!
If you’re on Medium, there’s no way you haven’t heard of Jordan Gross. He’s the editor of Mind Cafe - one of Medium’s most-respected publications with over 118,000 followers. But here’s a thing you probably didn’t know about Jordan: aside from writing amazing stories on Medium, Jordan’s also written 2 books. His 3rd book What Happens in Tomorrow World? is releasing on March 30th, 2021.
The book is a modern-day fable with talking toys, a giant crane game, and a badass girl who teaches us how to navigate uncertainty.
I was fortunate enough to read an advance copy of the book. Trust me on this, it’s an AMAZING, unputdownable read.
In fact, it’s so good, that I had to reach out to Jordan and pick his brains about everything that goes into writing, editing, publishing, and marketing a book. What followed was a 40-minute chat into all the magic that goes on inside a writer’s brain. It’s filled with super valuable and insightful tips on (among other things):
How to develop the mindset where you can reach out to popular authors to get a recommendation from them.
How to land a traditional publishing deal.
The pros and cons of self and traditional publishing based on Jordan’s 3+ years of experience.
The staggered marketing approach that helps you sell copies of your books for months after the release.
Jordan’s smile that can light up any room (okay, this is a personal bias, haha!)
Jokes apart, the video is filled with nuggets of information and inspiration. If you’re a writer who plans on publishing their first book soon, or you already have released your book, but haven’t gotten much traction, it’s a must-watch for you. Make sure you have a pen and paper ready so you don’t miss out on the valuable tips.
