Tips to set healthy boundaries with work when you're working from home.
Hello dear friend,
Setting boundaries with work when you're working from home is never easy. But when you're working on your passion, the lines can get blurred even further.
It's easy to get lost in extremes - either working too hard or not working at all.
Here are a few tips to set healthy boundaries with work when you're working on your passion from home:
Set a fixed time after which you won't do any work-related stuff.
Take the weekends off to recharge, ideate, review the past week, and plan the week ahead.
Add some fun elements to work. Either pick up a new project that lets you explore your creativity, or find a way to do a boring task in a more interesting manner.
Give yourself periodic "raises." This can mean investing some money in upgrading your lifestyle or alloting more funds to your "disposable income" every month.
Make sure you spend at least 1 hour outdoors.
Stand up and stretch every 20 or so minutes. If possible, take a short walk around the house.
Stay hydrated.
Have a morning routine to energize you before work.
Build a night routine to help you unwind for the day.
Make sure you speak to at least 3 people during the day - either in person or on phone - about non-work-related stuff.
