Your Future Self Will Be Thankful If You Do These 7 Things Today
Not-so-difficult self-improvement tips you can implement right away.
Hello dear friend,
Every time someone mentions the word “Self-improvement tips,” I cringe a little internally. Most of the advice you see online today is packed with the same old cliches repeated over and over again, like -
Wake up every day at 5 AM
Clear your house of all items that don’t “spark joy” in your heart
Put in 10x the effort than you’d normally put in for 10x results
…and so on.
But I beg to disagree.
I know not everyone can wake up at 5 AM every day, and yet, many of the late-wakers can do amazing things that take the world by storm.
Today, I want to share seven personalized self-improvement tips that have actually worked for me and are also backed by science. If you’re a naturally clumsy person or a night owl like me, I’m sure you’ll find a lot in these tips that resonate with you.
Here are the seven steps you can follow today that your future self will be super grateful for:
Move your body and do some form of physical exercise that helps you release the day’s stress and boost your mood.
Read for 30 minutes a day. It can be a book, blog posts, or old articles you’d saved for later, but never got around to reading.
Replace your phone with an alarm clock, so you can save the precious few minutes every morning by ideating for the day and not getting lost in incessant social media notifications.
Build a personal brand online. No matter what career you’re in, having a presence online can yield rich dividends later on. More about how to establish a strong presence on LinkedIn here.
Eat healthy, but intuitively. Don’t follow a fad diet for immediate results. Rather, make fitness a way of life.
Sleep for 7-8 hours every night.
Curate your online feed to free your brain of second-hand stress and compassion fatigue.
I’ve also made a detailed video explaining why each of these habits is important, what research says about them, and how you can go about incorporating them into your schedule right away. Watch it here:
I’ve put a lot of effort into compiling this video for you. If these tips can help even one person, my job as a creator will be done.
Please be kind, do watch the video, and let me know your thoughts by leaving a reply to this email (or comment below). I’d greatly cherish your feedback and use that to create content that helps you even more.
I’ll see you again on the weekend.
Until then, stay awesome and keep smiling.
Lots of love,
Anangsha
