Nice to note that you finally found time to discover yourself. In one word I can say that life's but MEMORIES. We build memories every moment of our lives and at the end of the day what really matters is Memories that we have created in our journey of life. Whether they are good, bad, happy or sad, exciting or dull and so on.
I have been meditating for more than 30 years, and this way of meditation is really good because it gives more importance to smiling, relaxation and metta (goodwill) than focus and concentration.
